Mono City

Located at the junction of U. S. 395 at California State Route 167 east, Mono City is a small residential community of approximately fifty homes with a commanding view of Mono Lake itself.  Mono City is located within walking distance of Lower Mill Creek, which originates in Lundy Canyon.  The Conway Ranch and Conway Summit areas lie to the immediate north.  Mono City has experienced a very modest growth rate since the tract was first subdivided and created by Mr. Larry Irion, who lived in June Lake in the late 1960's.

Many Eastern Sierra residents choose to reside in Mono City in part because the winter season can be milder than in many other proximate Eastern Sierra communities, and property values to purchase or build a home may be more within reach for many.

Mono City is just 7 miles north of Lee Vining, 18 miles south of Bridgeport, and 55 miles away from Hawthorne, NV.  via S/R167.  Lundy Lake and historic Lundy Canyon are just across Highway 395 to the west, affording some very easily accessible fishing and mountain recreation.  The Mono Inn Restaurant, Ansel Adams Gallery, and Tioga Lodge are just around the corner.
